WHAT IS EUROsimA?

The European Union Simulation Conference has been organized by the Middle East Technical University Foreign Policy and International Relations Club in Ankara since 2005. The number of participants of EUROsimA is increasing year by year. You, conference participants, will have the chance to manage hot debates with your dynamism and creativity in each committee. EUROsimA gives an opportunity to its participants to learn the functioning of the EU and to engage in debates so as to improve speaking skills, reinforce the political stance for the diplomats of future. Each participant will be representing one of the EU member states and act in the committees according to the policies of the states they present.

The subjects of the debates, discussed in the committees, will be based on the EU’s hot, controversial agenda. The delegates will try to found alliances with other states and come to a conclusion with the best, most fruitful resolutions. This will help the delegates realize the theory into practice. Another aim of the EUROsimA is to introduce Turkey to the world and increase the diversity of nationalities among honourable participants.

In 2010, EUROsimA will be hosting participants from all over the world for 6th time. Indeed, there is a differentiating aspect in EUROsimA 2010. This year, the EUROsimA consists of two parts; a pre-program for the foreign participants. The first two days of the programme are to be allocated (26-27 April) for a spectacular trip which will take place in Istanbul.

 

WHY IN ISTANBUL?

Istanbul is chosen as the European Capital of Culture in 2010. The EUROsimA organization team wishes to offer the privilege to its foreign participants to experience the great atmosphere of Istanbul which is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. First two days of the conference are to take place in İstanbul with a cultural trip with the company of the friendly EUROsimA organization team. The conference will be held on 29-30 April-01-02 May in Ankara.
