Transport, Telecommunications, and Energy Council (TTE) was established as one of the configurations of the Council of the European Union in 2002. Before, there was the Industry and Energy Council under the Council of the European Union. Nevertheless, effective integration of the two topics was very limited since this council configuration had separate agendas for both the components and Industry and Energy. Therefore, TTE Council was replaced with Industry and Energy Council in order to create a better integration.
The TTE Council is mainly responsible for establishing modern, competitive, and efficient markets and infrastructure, and creating trans-European transport, communications and energy networks. The composition of the committee and the number of its meetings varies according to the items on the agenda.
